Alternative Football Board organizes the AFB Confederation Cup. It was started mostly for international teams that are ineligible to apply for FIFA membership. Sealand, Ladonia, Molossia and Vikesland are micronations not recognised by any official svereign state. Quebec is a Canadian province. Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus is only recognised by Turkey and is claimed by Cyprus. Somaliland is claimed by Somalia and not recognised by any sovereign state. South Ossetia is recognised only by Russia, Nicaragua, Nauru, Venezuela, Abkhazia and Transnistria, and is claimed by Georgia. Iceland, the Faroe Islands, the Republic of Ireland, Canada, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Liechtenstein took part in the 2012 AFB 5-a-side Confederation Cup. The United States, Mexico and Bermuda were due to enter but the North American qualifying group was cancelled, as it was decided Canada should automatically qualify as they were hosting the tournament.
